SpacePath Showcases New High Performance SWaP Amplifier at IBC 2023
SpacePath Communications (‘SpacePath’), a dedicated, European-based SATCOM amplifier manufacturer and equipment supplier, is to exhibit its new 750W Ka-band, outdoor amplifier offering best-in-class size, weight and power (SWaP) at IBC 2023.
On display at IBC for the first time, SpacePath will be showcasing its latest 750W Ka-band SWaP amplifier. Designed for the LEO/MEO segment, it boasts many customer-led design attributes with a compact form factor, low weight and high-power output.
Offering many advantages over existing product solutions, the ultra-linear STA 5575P amplifier is a single box design incorporating a wide-mouthed, integrated AC power supply with market-leading power efficiency, delivering up to 4GHz of bandwidth (27-31GHz) with an NPR of -19dBc @ Plin 250W.
The amplifier also features SpacePath’s innovative heat sink design. This uses a carbon-based fin air cooling structure which is around half the weight of copper-based cooling systems but with similar thermal properties. Additionally, the amplifier provides Ethernet/web-based remote control and removable air intake filters for cost-effective maintenance and added convenience. Optional multi-band BUCs are also available.
Providing a critical link in any satellite communications network, the SWaP design makes this outdoor amplifier ideal for mounting directly onto the antenna hub. And as the market requirement for handling higher levels of broadband traffic increases, the high power, small form factor of the STA 5575P demonstrates how integrators and customers can fully meet the demand, while also scaling the antenna size down and reducing the system footprint and costs.
Dave Melville, Head of Engineering, SpacePath Communications, said: “Our latest 750W Ka-band amplifier demonstrates our continued commitment to the LEO/MEO satellite segment and designing best-in-class SWaP amplifiers by setting new standards in both performance and system functionality.”
SpacePath’s high performance uplink amplifiers cover all mission-critical segments including satellite newsgathering (DSNG), flyaway or truck-based systems, fixed-earth stations and military satellite communications. All amplifiers are now offered with advanced user features including SNMP V3, a key feature for cyber security protection.
