SWISSto12 appoints Chris Larmour as Chief Commercial Officer

SWISSto12, one of the fastest-growing aerospace companies, recognized leader in manufacturing advanced Radio-Frequency products, payloads and subsystems, and pioneer of Geostationary SmallSats, today announced the appointment of Christopher Larmour as Chief Commercial Officer.

Prior to joining SWISSto12 Mr Larmour was the founder and CEO of Orbex, the UK-based orbital space launch company, which is scheduled to launch its first vehicles into space in 2024. Under Chris’ leadership, Orbex raised more than $100m in private and public financing, as well as building several private production and test facilities and initiating construction of Europe´s first private orbital spaceport.

Mr Larmour’s new role with SWISSto12 will focus on commercial and corporate development, assisting SWISSto12’s Founder and CEO Emile de Rijk in scaling the company to meet strong customer demand while also supporting deliveries to existing customers such as Inmarsat (acq. Viasat), a world leader in global, mobile satellite communications, and Intelsat, operator of the world’s largest integrated satellite and terrestrial network.

Chris Larmour, Chief Commercial Officer at SWISSto12 said, “I’m very happy to be joining SWISSto12 at a super interesting point in the company’s growth. The geostationary satellite market is a strategic, high-value sector, and SWISSto12 has created a unique, innovative satellite solution that has been selected by the most reputable and successful satellite operators in the world, something no early-stage company has achieved before in the Space industry. I’m looking forward to joining this world-class team and supporting Emile as SWISSto12 scales.”

SWISSto12, headquartered in Switzerland, has developed the HummingSat satellite product line, using proprietary, patented 3D-printing technologies and specialised Radio-Frequency (RF) and payload products along with a rideshare launch strategy. Together, these capabilities have allowed SWISSto12 to create a new generation of agile, high-performance geostationary satellites with a form factor that’s up to five times smaller than conventional geostationary satellites, while still delivering critical services with certainty.

Emile de Rijk, Founder and CEO of  SWISSto12 said, “We are delighted to welcome Chris to the team at SWISSto12. Chris has been a pioneer of next-generation European space launch over the past decade, and he brings a wealth of experience in company-building, commercial partnership, as well as an entrepreneurial approach to the space sector that fits well with the ethos of our company. We have an ambitious and achievable plan to execute and Chris will make a strong contribution to our future success.”
