Satcube Receives a 1 MEUR Terminal Order via the EU SatCom Market
Satcube, a fast-growing European technology company that develops lightweight terminals to provide high-speed satellite broadband connectivity, announces that it has received a major purchase order via the EU SatCom Market amounting to 1 MEUR.
The EU SatCom Market is the European Union’s procurement catalogue for Satellite communications as well as Communication and Information System services and is an efficient way to provide commercially available SatCom and CIS services to the member States.
Through this project, Satcube has secured a 1M EUR contract with Telespazio France, the current awardee of the EU SatCom Market Framework Contract by the European Defence Agency (EDA).
Satcube announced the construction of a new, state-of-the-art high-production facility in Karlstad, Sweden, this fall, and this order confirms the trend the company is seeing – that is that the need for reliable and easy-to-use ground terminals such as the Satcube Ku is increasing.
“We have built a dependency on internet connections but we have made them quite vulnerable. In the event of a natural disaster, or a major cyberattack by a foreign power, it could quickly lead to chaos. Already today, we get requests from critical governmental and non-governmental organizations to use our system as a backup, and this order is the confirmation that the need is here.”, says Jakob Kallmér, Satcube’s Chief Executive Officer.
“We are exciting to have received yet another major order, this time via the EU SatCom Market.” says Robert Mellberg, Chief Commercial Officer at Satcube. “The global communications landscape is evolving rapidly and we are proud to be able to support European nations with their critical communications needs.”
